The 'Little Way'

The ‘Little Way’ is a beautiful and simple spiritual path inspired by St Thérèse of Lisieux. It teaches us that we don’t need to do big or impressive things to grow close to God—we can live a life of holiness by doing small, everyday things with great love.

St Thérèse chose to offer each moment of her day—especially the small, ordinary, and even boring tasks—with love, joy, and generosity. Whether it was washing up, doing chores, or showing kindness to someone who was unkind, she did it all without complaint and with a loving heart. This became her ‘Little Way’.

Although it sounds simple, living the Little Way can be a real challenge. It calls us to be patient, humble, and loving in all circumstances—especially when it’s hard. But St Thérèse reminds us that by doing the little things with great love, each of us can become a saint and make a real difference in the world.

"Pupils benefit from the strong ethos of respect and compassion for each other. They seek to follow the quote from St Teresa,   ‘Let us do little things well today’, doing small things to help each other." OFSTED 2025

Little Way Week

Little Way Week takes place in the last week of September and culminates in the Feast Day of St Teresa of Lisieux. During the week, we reflect on St. Teresa's life and her mission. We think about her 'little ways' and how we can grow closer to God by following her example.
